Petitgrain Bigarade, Organic (Italy)
Bitter orange tree leaves. Both Neroli and Petitgrain Bigarade oils are derived from the bitter orange tree, so they have the same Latin name (citrus aurantium var amara). However, they are not the same thing. Petitgrain is around one-tenth of the price, and is sometimes referred to as the “poor man’s Neroli”. Petitgrain is extracted from the leaves and twigs of the plant, whereas Neroli is distilled from its blossoms.
Traditional uses of Petitgrain Bigarade essential oil include support for the respiratory, muscular, cardiovascular, immune, digestive, and nervous systems of the body.
Petitgrain is gentle and effective on the skin for minor irritations. It is commonly used to promote calm, relaxation and to ease feelings of tension.
